The Padres Have A Rocky Series Opener Against Colorado

Last night the Padres kicked off a home series against the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies are said to have a bit of an unfair advantage at home; playing at high altitudes may cause flyballs to travel farther, and the Rockies themselves may have superior aerobic capabilities for the same reason. I'm skeptical:


Despite the fact that the Rockies beat the Padres 7-4 and the Padres are now 0-4 for the first time since 1994, this Padres team isn't terrible. Wil Myers did this in the first inning:



Eric Hosmer hit two doubles (he's batting .375 over the past four games). The team rallied in the ninth, with a solo home run by Cory Spangenberg followed by an RBI triple by Jose Pirela (Hunter Renfroe scored the run). The Padres came away with 8 hits. Clearly it wasn't enough, but still. It's something.
